What sets Akaushi Apart
Akaushi are a type of Japanese cattle breed originating in Kumomoto, Japan. They are known across the world for having a unique disposition for developing more intramuscular fat (marbling) which results in superior tenderness and overall flavor.
This breed also has unique health benefits. Akaushi or Red Wagyu, have been studied and found to contain higher amount of monounsaturated fats, which are linked to reducing LDL (bad cholesterol). Additionally, Akaushi beef has also been found to contain higher amounts of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) which has been attributed to lowering cholesterol, supporting a healthier metabolism, and improving overall heart health.
